Today, we are telling you about the <strong>5 successful companies that failed before they triumphed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\">\n<div class=\"ai-rotate ai-1\" data-shares=\"WzEwMCwxMDBd\" data-info=\"WzEsMl0=\" data-next=\"1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ai-rotate-option\" data-name=\"Qg==\">\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Apple <\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Although Apple\u2019s history is closely linked to the name of Steve Jobs, the truth is that he did not found the company alone. He founded it together with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne \u2014 who ended up selling his shares for 800 dollars just two weeks later \u2014 in 1976. After years of technological launches, Steve Jobs encouraged John Sculley, then president of PepsiCo, to stop selling sugared water and change the world with his brilliant ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Just two years after Sculley\u2019s arrival, and after many frictions and tensions, Steve Jobs left Apple and founded NeXT. From that moment until 1997, Apple launched products without any success, even coming close to bankruptcy.<\/p>\n<p>In 1996, Gil Amelio, then CEO of Apple, bought NeXT and managed to bring Steve Jobs back to the company\u2019s board of directors. From that moment on, a complete restructuring began, and so did the golden era that preceded the launch of the iPod, iPhone and iPad.<\/p>\n<p>As a curiosity, Microsoft invested 150 million dollars in Apple to rescue it from bankruptcy in 1997. A decision that many criticised.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7541\" src=\"https:\/\/loom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/adeolu-eletu-HOMlKBR9pik-unsplash-min-1.jpg\" alt=\"empresas de \u00e9xito que fracasaron\" width=\"950\" height=\"531\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\">\n<div class=\"ai-rotate ai-1\" data-shares=\"WzEwMCwxMDBd\" data-info=\"WzEsMl0=\" data-next=\"1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ai-rotate-option\" data-name=\"Qg==\">\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.universomarvel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Marvel<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Marvel Comics was founded in 1939 by Martin Goodman as a comic book publisher focused on superheroes. During its early years, Marvel enjoyed moderate success with stories such as Spider-Man and X-Men. However, in the 1990s, sales plummeted and the company became heavily indebted.<\/p>\n<p>Faced with this situation, Marvel filed for bankruptcy to buy itself some time to change its business model. They made some false starts, but eventually chose to create a film studio. However, they needed money to begin producing films, and to achieve this they requested substantial loans from banks, using the rights to their most important characters as collateral.<\/p>\n<p>The first film produced was Blade, which cost 45 million dollars and became a massive success: it grossed three times what it had cost. In 2009, Disney acquired Marvel for 4.2 billion dollars.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.converse.com\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Converse<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"referenciasDestacadas\">\n<p>The story of the world\u2019s most famous trainers began in 1908 when Marquis Mills Converse opened his factory in Malden, USA. At the time, basketball was still a minority sport, and Converse saw its opportunity. The success of No Skid \u2014 as the first shoe was known \u2014 was only a matter of time, and they ended up becoming the main supplier for players. In 1920, No Skid was renamed All Star, and that same year Chuck Taylor joined the company.<\/p>\n<p>Everything went well until 1968, when Chuck Taylor died and the company began to lose its direction, eventually filing for bankruptcy in 2001. At that point, Nike bought one of its main competitors and saved this century-old company.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Starbucks was another successful company that also failed. In 2008, it even closed 7,100 coffee shops. How did it overcome this?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.starbucks.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Starbucks<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was the year 2008, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expansion.com\/2011\/08\/09\/entorno\/1312923306.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Starbucks<\/a> was close to dying from its own success. After 30 years of growing at a dizzying pace \u2014 even opening 1,000 coffee shops in 5 years \u2014 sales began to fall because it had lost its essence. They then closed 7,100 establishments in the United States, and that was where its resurgence began. If anyone deserves credit for that rebirth, it is Howard Schultz, the genius who was able to radically transform the company\u2019s strategy into what we all know today.<\/p>\n<div id=\"menu_bloques_57248\" class=\"bloques_lista \">\n<div id=\"bloques_vista_tabla_57248\" class=\"bloques_vista_tabla bloques_vista_tabla_columna\">\n<div id=\"menu_bloques_vista57248_1\" class=\"bloques_vistaprev \">\n<div id=\"app_texto_tex_57248_1\" class=\"app_texto_tex\">\n<div id=\"app_texto_cont_57248_1\" class=\"app_texto_cont 0 \">\n<p>Schultz had been the creator of the chain and had stepped back somewhat to focus on expansion. After that failure, he took control again and the changes began. He improved consistency and flavour, \u201ceducated\u201d employees in the company\u2019s culture so that they would feel part of a community, and turned the simple act of drinking coffee into an experience. In that way, customers would be willing to pay more just for the atmosphere created in the coffee shops.<\/p>\n<p>With that change, not only was the chain saved, but it also became the third largest in the world by number of locations, behind Subway and McDonald\u2019s.<\/p>\n<h3>KFC, succeeding after many failures.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kfc.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>KFC<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We often believe that success will come quickly, but the story of Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC, proves otherwise. He was 74 years old when he managed to create the business of his life after accumulating many failures.<\/p>\n<p>With a difficult family life, he moved from one job to another without much success: insurance salesman, firefighter, farmer\u2026 At the age of 39, he reached an agreement with Shell Oil Company under which he would take over a petrol station in Kentucky without paying rent, in exchange for a percentage of the sales. However, the Great Depression was hitting the United States and the business did not work out. So he decided to make use of the place and sell fried chicken using a recipe of his own creation, and that is where his fame began.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"menu_bloques_57249\" class=\"bloques_lista \">\n<div id=\"bloques_vista_tabla_57249\" class=\"bloques_vista_tabla bloques_vista_tabla_columna\">\n<div id=\"menu_bloques_vista57249_1\" class=\"bloques_vistaprev \">\n<div id=\"app_texto_tex_57249_1\" class=\"app_texto_tex\">\n<div id=\"app_texto_cont_57249_1\" class=\"app_texto_cont 0 \">\n<div id=\"menu_bloques_57253\" class=\"bloques_lista \">\n<div id=\"bloques_vista_tabla_57253\" class=\"bloques_vista_tabla bloques_vista_tabla_columna\">\n<div id=\"menu_bloques_vista57253_1\" class=\"bloques_vistaprev \">\n<p>His popularity kept growing and he opened his own restaurant on a road in the town of Corbin, but everything fell apart with the construction of a new motorway that diverted traffic away from Corbin. Customers declined and the business went bankrupt.<\/p>\n<p>With yet another failure behind him, Sanders did not give up, and although he was already 60 years old at the time, he decided to sell the premises and acquire a more modest one. There, he thought franchising would be a great idea and began to look for investors.
