LOOM, MERLIN Properties’ flexible spaces division, will host PATIO Campus in its space located at LOOM Azca, as a benchmark centre in Madrid for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
In the heart of Castellana, more specifically in the Ruiz Picasso 11 Building, the new space of PATIO Innovation & Startup Campus takes shape, a leading ecosystem in innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability, whose goal is to become the meeting point for the innovation ecosystem.
It is a modern physical meeting point designed to bring together corporations, entrepreneurs, public administration, startups, investors, NGOs, business schools and all those stakeholders needed for innovation to happen. From PATIO Campus, the development of collaborative projects that generate a real positive impact in our country will be encouraged. The project, which emerged from the initiative of eight major corporations — BMW Group España, Cepsa, Iberia, Inditex, L’Oréal Groupe, Mahou San Miguel, MERLIN Properties and Pascual — has had the support of the Community of Madrid as a sponsoring partner since its foundation. In addition, over recent months, partners such as Kfund, Universidad CEU San Pablo, Cococo Ventures, Aunara, Social Nest, Leemons and Modulor, among others, have joined its ecosystem. In this way, PATIO Campus places the focus on innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability, three key pillars for fostering quality employment and wealth creation, thereby generating a beneficial return for society.
This project is part of a new wave called Nazca, which aims to renew the area known as Azca, the financial heart of Madrid, bringing together large and small companies and thereby encouraging collaboration between entrepreneurs and major corporations. In this way, PATIO Campus will bring together training and mentoring for entrepreneurs in one single space, functioning as an incubator for new ideas and talent attraction hand in hand with major firms.
As for the space itself, PATIO Campus will occupy more than 1,800 m2 located within LOOM AZCA, inside the Ruiz Picasso 11 Building, with a maximum layout of 206 workstations, in addition to a branding/showroom space for the founding corporations, meeting rooms and an agora for events. Its design and concept have been carried out by LOOM, MERLIN Properties’ flexible spaces division, which will also be responsible for managing it.
