We are delighted to host at Loom this event full of experiences, art and learning with Ana Palacios.
After more than fifteen years of experience in international film productions, dedicated to meeting the eccentric demands of the Hollywood industry, Ana decided in 2010 to make a decisive change in her professional career. She resumed her career in journalism and redirected her focus towards humanitarian photography, with the aim of giving visibility to vulnerable communities, collaborating with non-governmental organisations such as UNICEF, Manos Unidas and África Directo.
Through her reports published in media outlets such as National Geographic, The Guardian Weekend Magazine and El País Semanal, Ana became a voice for the stories of those living on the margins. These documentary projects have been exhibited across all five continents, she has published three books, and she has directed a documentary on child slavery, available on Filmin.
You will enjoy a personal experience in which the author steps out of her comfort zone and makes a life-changing personal and professional shift. She moves from a ‘movie life’, surrounded by celebrities and glamour, to another where her new mission is to tell, through stories and photographs, what the broken corners of the world are like and who inhabits them.
What will you take away from this event?
With passion and perseverance, it is possible to make a radical professional life change successfully. Contributing your grain of sand can help change things out there.
We look forward to seeing you!
