LOOM Plaza Catalunya project, an internationally renowned flexible office space, is awarded with an Architizer A+ Awards.
LOOM and SCOB studio have been awarded the Popular Choice A+ 2023 Award at the Architizer A+ Awards for their LOOM Plaza Catalunya project, an internationally renowned flexible office space.
This is the first time in the eleven editions of this award that a Spanish flexible office has received this recognition. LOOM and SCOB have carried out a comprehensive renovation of the building, originally designed by the architect Puig i Cadaflach in the early 20th century, managing to combine tradition and the avant-garde in a bright and spacious space, with an elegant and contemporary design that makes it a unique coworking space.
LOOM Plaza Catalunya offers 253 work places, 13 meeting rooms and private terraces for users, as well as impressive terraces with panoramic views of the emblematic square of Barcelona. The key strategy of this refurbishment has been to “recover the shared values between its past and its future projection”.
It is worth noting that this is the third time that SCOB, the Barcelona-based studio led by Sergi Camila and Óscar Blasco, has received this recognition. In 2016, they won the Audience Award at the Architizer A+Awards for their project to refurbish and expand the Marina Port Vell in Barcelona, and in 2020 they received the Jury and Audience Award for their project for the outdoor spaces of Terra Dominicata.
